  • Session Spotlight: Connecting the Dots in Regenerative Agriculture - A Collaborative Approach to Sustainable Sourcing
  • Hi, I'm Phoenix Dugger from Ardent Mills. I've been with the company for just about 9 years now. Most of that time being spent in managing our environmental social governance program. In my role, I get to see all of our different community impact programs and partnerships with nonprofits across our network of community mills, the internal sustainability programs, so operational efficiencies within our network, as well as all of the sourcing aspects, so whether that be non-grain suppliers or working with our farmers to find ways to be more sustainable. And all of the reporting and tracking that goes into managing that, so a really great opportunity to work across the business and manage sustainability at the company. We'll be hosting a session this year at IBIE titled Connecting the dots and Region Ag A Collaborative Approach to Sustainable sourcing, and this session really is gonna hit on how you pull together all different parts of the value chain, for commodity commodity products to have successful Region Ag programs. It's important because consumers are seeking out more and more ways to support products with their dollars that have a sustainable aspect to them, and what we've really learned is they want to know not just that it's sustainable, but how it's sustainable, the specific numbers we have to prove the efficacy of these programs, and really what impact their purchase is making in the supply chain with farmers to advance sustainability in our country. So through this panel you're going to see from not just us in the milling side of things of what we do to bring those programs to life, but also hear from growers in our programs that have been with us for multiple years, advancing Region Ag on their farms, entering in the data that makes us confident in those changes, but also the customers that we bring in to help tell that story help drive the goals and set the targets for those programs and ultimately have that real connection with the consumer at the store shelf to tell us what's important to track what's important to manage, and ultimately what story is best to tell and how we do that for consumers.
