  • Session Spotlight: Making Ethical Decisions Based on Values
  • I'm Bill Quigg, president of Discovery Learning International, a seminar and consulting company, and I serve on the board of Richmond Baking in Kentucky and Indiana. I currently serve on the ethics Committee of Honor Health Medical Hospitals in Phoenix.
  • What topic or trend does this session cover, and why is it important?
  • I speak about making business and personal decisions based on values and consensus decision making. A critical corporate resource is often missing, and that is using corporate values as a foundation for decision making. You can devise a simple 4 or 5 part ethical guideline that will help you resolve a difficult problem. It's your value statement. These principles have helped many others find their own ethical compass. You can create an ethical system that calls for living the truth and measuring actions on the basis of benefits.
  • What will attendees learn from this session?
  • Attendees will learn 4 benefits in building organizational culture through values. You will learn 6 key steps in consensus decision making and be provided with 4 questions to serve as a personal guidepost when faced with ethical questions.
