- Hi, I'm Michele Stewart, and I own Michele's Pies in Norwalk, Connecticut. What makes me an expert at pie baking is that I have 51 pies that have won the national pie championships, and I started baking before I can ever even remember.

- During my session, I'm going to discuss all the ways pies are an essential American food, from dessert pies, savory pies, the holidays, pies for a celebration, mini pies, handheld pies, large pies, pies are a tradition and have the capability to bring back memories.
- What will attendees learn from this session?
- When you attend my session, I'm going to demonstrate how versatile a pie can be, how you can use your favorite fruit or a combination of fruits and put it in a pie shop, and how you can make a totally different pie based on crust or crumb choice. I'm also going to demonstrate all the savory options that can be in a pie from a chicken pot pie, a beef pie, a shepherd's pie, and how even a quiche is considered a pie. I'm going to demonstrate how pies in all sizes can be useful for your next gathering.
